A week after getting the haircut, the sheep were ushered out of the main gate once again, this time headed to the dip that only happened once a year after they were sheared. The sheep walked the one kilometer to the dip. A bath was uncomfortable for us, you can imagine sheep completely submerged in a chemical laden liquid, in a long narrow vat that they had to walk through to reach the exit on the other end. There was no space to turn back especially with other sheep on their tail. They had to keep ‘swimming’ until they cleared the entire ‘dip’ as was cleverly designed by the Colonial Master who built it for his flock. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The pesticide used for the sheep dip was a bright yellow color. The sheep entered looking snow white and emerged the other end looking like some bright yellow ripe bananas. The sheep walked the one kilometer home, still dripping of the yellow liquid that still lingered on their short wool. When they entered the home compound, they were again greeted by wildly barking dogs who were again wondering what strange animals just walked in. The dogs had seen the very white looking animals the previous week and they had come to terms with them being members of this family, and now these yellow creatures? It was too much for the dogs. But after another week, they realized the yellow animals were here to stay and the barking stopped. Peace was once again restored in the animal kingdom until another year rolled in and the whole shenanigans happened all over again.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
