We have all watched in fascination as the Royal Family of Great Britain rode their elegant horse drawn carriages especially during weddings. Carriages were also the mode of transportation in Western Civilizations before the invention of cars and trains. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Today, carriage rides are used for leisure. In the famous New York Central Park, where the “Friends” TV sitcom was based, there are carriage rides for tourists, wedding parties and other functions. A creative person in OlKalou and elsewhere can use donkeys to pull a carriage and give rides around town. Our donkeys are accustomed to hauling carts full of luggage, a carriage will be an easy task for them to pull. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Distances like going to the J.M. Kariuki hospital from town, or going to the Nyandarua County offices along the Nairobi Nyahururu highway should make a fun ride. Some people will ride with you out of curiosity and that is perfectly OK because it is more business for you. School children will definitely be regular customers and they should enjoy the experience too as long as they pay. Business is Business. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The only initial investment you make is on the carriage. It does not have to be fancied up like those of the royal family, but just a comfortable sitting space for a few people and their luggage. The donkeys graze anywhere there is grass, so there are no special animal feeds required. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
