Just like the uniforms above, our local schools have been wearing single knit sweaters made by the mass producers of school uniforms from the big cities. They make standard uniforms for the entire country, not considering how cold Nyandarua is. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our students do not need the single knit sweaters similar to those worn by students in warmer places like Nairobi and neighboring districts. Nyandarua students require fluffy warm sweaters with a matching scarf. These can be done either by machine or by hand. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A group of avid knitters can form a club and knit sweaters and scarves, present to local heads of schools and institutions, who will sell the idea to parents. A young lady who can afford a knitting machine can do the same, making sweaters that are ideal for the Nyandarua weather. If the price parents pay for the mass produced single knit sweaters is about the same as the heavier, fluffier warmer sweaters which are more durable, I cannot see a parent who will not say yes to your idea. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Go ahead and try <\/span><\/span>it<\/span><\/span>. You will never know what works unless you try it. People usually get comfortable with what they know until somebody presents them with an alternative they can consider.
