At my sister’s house, after the meals were over and dishes were washed, they were dried with some beautiful dish towels, something I had never seen before. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In OlKalou we never had a dish towel. In the daytime, our dishes were washed outside. Every home had a huge wire mesh “table” or stand, used for drying dishes. We drip dried our dishes by spreading them face down on that wire rack stand. After the evening meal, we put the clean dishes in a huge sufuria, left them in there overnight and by morning they were dry, eliminating the need for a dish towel. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But now at my sisters house, I was amazed to see a dish towel used for drying dishes after every wash. After finishing drying the dishes, the dish towel was washed and sanitized in boiling water. How can a dish towel be washed after only one use; it did not look dirty to me. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In OlKalou we only washed clothes that actually looked dirty. If they did not look dirty, they were used over and over again until their color was altered by dirt, then we knew they needed washing. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Here now was my sister, flesh and blood, having clean looking dish towels washed after every use. Wonders never cease.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
