For a business to get established, grow and succeed, it requires a superior product, consistency and dependability. Once people know who you are and what you stand for, you will have lifelong customers and they will refer their family and friends to you, growing your business even more. Create opportunities for yourself and your children and grandchildren. No job is beneath you as long as you are getting paid for it.
Do your homework first before you invest anything. Identify the job you want to do. Identify where you will source the raw materials necessary to perform the job. Calculate the cost of those materials to identify how much initial capital you will need. Calculate the duration of the job from start to finish so you can market correctly to your potential customers. Identify your source of capital necessary to get the business off the ground. Identify your market. Do not invest money into anything unless you know there is a market for it.
Once everything is in place, do a model project that will give you a feel on how to do the job effectively, and help you smooth out any kinks you may not have anticipated, building your confidence before you go out to paying customers. Take beautiful pictures of your finished work and get them printed on some glossy paper. Keep the same pictures well organized on your phone, and post others on social media. The pictures are your marketing tool and that is why you should have them in all forms so there is never a reason not to show your work to a potential customer. No internet, or your phone is not charged, no problem, whip out the paper copies. Always be prepared, you are a business person and your “shop” must stay open always.
Think of all the places you see Coca Cola advertisements. Billboards on all major highways, Sign boards in every town, even the smallest rural towns deep in the interior, front and sides of buildings, beautiful posters running frequent promotional campaigns and constant advertisements on both radio and TV. With the Coca Cola name recognition worldwide, you would think they can now relax and let people enjoy Coca Cola. No. They keep their products alive, by keeping them in your face every place you look. No wonder they are successful.
Do the same for your business. Saturate your neighborhood with your positive, upbeat and respectful presence. Let them see your beautiful work everywhere they look, no excuses, nothing taken for granted.
