Food Service

There are people who are naturally gifted in making real good food. Then there are those with interest in learning how to make good food. There are vocational colleges that run short courses teaching students how to make various food items. You can learn one item at a time and go back for another short course to learn something else. Food is a uniting factor in our lives. Whenever you meet a friend in town, the most natural place to sit down and catch up is in a restaurant over a cup of tea, or food, depending on how long you plan on staying. Family get together’s are formed around a “goat eating”.

In our towns and neighborhoods, food is one thing that makes people stop and pay attention. There are workers who need to eat during their lunch break. There are students on lunch break who needs to eat. One may argue there are many hotels and kiosks in town. That is true, but consider this, if you made affordable food that people enjoy eating, and you deliver it to your customers, you are already in business. You can make any of the following: mandazis, samosas, sandwiches, meat pies, fruit salads, freshly squeezed fruit juices and delicacies like Queen Cakes and hawk them in offices, schools, local markets or wherever people are gathered.

In addition, you can perfect the art of cake making and decorating: and your customers can place orders whenever they have birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and weddings. To get them familiar with your cake making skills, take a cake around once in a while and sell it in slices that people can afford. That is good for sampling and when everyone knows what kind of cakes you make, they will refer their family and friends when the need for a cake arises.
