Rain Poncho

Speaking of sheltering from the rain, OlKalou rain is relentless. Once it starts, it comes down heavy and endless. If it starts raining when you are in town, or in school, better be prepared to go home in the rain otherwise you will have to spend the night right where you are, waiting for it to stop.

With the huge farms, OlKalou is also a big consumer of agricultural products like fertilizer and seeds which all come in huge heavy duty plastic bags. These bags can be recycled and turned into rain ponchos that can cover somebody very well and keep them dry under heavy downpour. Students can carry their book bags under the poncho and when not in use, it is easily foldable and carried in the book bag.

You do not need to be a clothes designer to make a rain poncho. Even I can do it with my limited sewing skills. Check online for practical designs that are effective and easy to make.
