Tricycle Town Rides

I know there are BodaBodas everywhere, but let me sell you an idea that does not require petrol, whose price seems to go up every week and never comes back down no matter how cheap crude oil gets on the global market. How can you beat this?

TriCycle: These are widely used in India and China. It is a bicycle with one front wheel and two at the back. The wide space at the back, between the two wheels creates a seat for two passengers. The space is also covered to shelter the passengers from weather elements, and also for privacy. These modifications to the bicycle can be made by our very resourceful jua kali artisans, giving them business in the process. Remember one hand greases another.

This is a one time investment. The rides are useful for short distances within town. If somebody wants to go from one end of town to the other, this ride comes in handy. Riders pay a small amount, less than what they would pay a BodaBoda. This is perfectly OK because you are not paying for any petrol and bicycle maintenance is relatively cheap.

Once people get used to this service, and realise it is affordable, they will seek you out to get around town relatively faster without wearing themselves out. You can wait for passengers at the bus stops and drop them off into town, or you could carry them from outside supermarkets and market and take them to the bus stop. They can ride BodaBoda for their trip home but while in town, you are their reliable ride.

BodaBodas can also get modified to accommodate more passengers with more comfort and privacy. Its just an idea depending on ones financial state.
